Episode Overview
The main plot centers around the crew of the Glomar needing to return home as quickly as possible. However, their route forces them to travel toward the Port of Lyon, a dangerous bottleneck where the hostile Chiram forces are already waiting to cut them off. [1, 2]
Key Plot Points
- Strategic Dilemma: The Factory must navigate around Spain to return to Emaan territory. The Chiram military intercepts this plan and moves through Lyon to set a trap. [1, 2]
- Political Tension: The Emaan government begins to waffle on how to handle the Glomar and Kei Katsuragi, who they have identified as the volatile "Singularity Point". [1]
- Character Moments: Despite the impending danger, the crew remains relatively relaxed early in the episode. Kei passes the time playing a game of Go against Gove. When the robot Mome tries to offer him strategic advice to win, a stubborn Kei brushes her off. An iconic emotional beat in the episode features Kei trying to calm down an stressed and overwhelmed Mimsy. [1]
