One Piece Episode 771 is titled "A Vow Between Two Men! Luffy and Kozuki Momonosuke!" It officially aired on January 8, 2017, during the anime's Zou Arc.
Episode Summary
The secrets of the Kozuki Clan continue to unravel on top of Zunesha. After learning about the tragic execution of Kozuki Oden by Kaido and the Shogun, the samurai bow their heads and desperately beg Luffy and Trafalgar Law to form an alliance to liberate Wano Country. To the absolute shock of both the samurai and his own crew, Luffy flatly refuses. He points out that despite the scale of the tragedy, Momonosuke is merely hiding behind his retainers and crying instead of acting like a true leader. Recognizing Luffy’s challenge, Momonosuke finds his courage, steps forward, and personally begs Luffy to help him defeat Kaido. Satisfied that Momonosuke has shown his own will to fight, Luffy smiles and accepts, officially forming the Ninja-Pirate-Mink-Samurai Alliance.
