Dr. Slump & Arale-chan Summer Anime Festival Special with Queen Millennia is a 1981 TV special that is a collaboration of the anime series Dr. Slump: Arale-chan (aired from 1981 to 1986) and Queen Millennia (aired from 1981 to 1982). No one knew about the special until it was found.
For years, the special was lost, and barely anyone knew about it until on March 30th, 2020, the original special was found by The Skaro Hunter Society. Skaro found the Betamax tape of the second broadcast that was recorded on March 11, 1982, in Nagasaki by someone under the username Dougo13. Bumpers of the special were released on home media, though not the whole thing. The version of the Betamax rip was fan-restored and had some interlacing issues. The Betamax version had the original commercials also and the original ending.[1][2]On October 22nd, the original special was subtitled by shiteaterdubs from the Betamax rip from Skaro Hunting Society, including multiple specials from official DVD rips that were subtitled which were also founded by Skaro.[3]
Since these were actually used in filming, there may be small scratches and fading of tracing lines over time.
